Risks FAQ

Question Answer
I work agile so we don’t have risks. Why would I bother with risk management? That’s not what Agile means. Things can and do go wrong when using agile ways of working. Check out our chapter about Agile later in this book.
This is a lot of process around Risk! Do I really need to do all this stuff?  Not at all – the amount of effort you put into risk management should be a reflection of how much risk is in your project and your organization’s risk tolerance. Scale your risk management activities to what makes sense for your project,  but make sure you are doing something about risk.
Should I try to capture and analyze every single thing that could possibly go wrong? That’s a lot!  This is where you and your team need to exercise some professional judgment. It’s better to error on the side of capturing too many risks, but how detailed you get should be a reflection of how much risk your project has and the risk tolerance of your organization. Be thorough but don’t go nuts.
