RAIDLOG ROI Calculator
Below is a simple ROI calculator to help demonstrate the potential value of RAIDLOG Enterprise version to your organization. This calculator provides a rough order of magnitude estimate of your potential return on investment, but we can provide a more detailed analysis on the specific demands of your portfolio.
As shown on our Research page, investing in tools and processes to respond to project risks can have an ROI as high as 23:1.
Risk Exposure Explanation
The default value is 15-20% based on several industry studies:
- The Standish Group's CHAOS report finds that 69% of projects either fail (19%) or are challenged (50%) [1].
- Harvard Business Review reports that 1 in 6 IT projects (about 17%) have cost overruns of 200% [2].
- McKinsey found that 17% of large IT projects go so badly that they threaten the existence of the company [3].
Given these statistics and without detailed analysis of the portfolio and individual projects, a 15-20% risk exposure is a conservative estimate that accounts for both the frequency and severity of project risks.

Risk Reduction Explanation
The default 15% risk reduction is a conservative estimate based on several factors:
- RAIDLOG.com's AI-powered risk identification can catch up to 75% of potential project pitfalls.
- Gartner research shows that projects with timely risk responses are 55% more likely to finish ahead of schedule [1].
- PMI's Pulse of the Profession found that 31% of project failures were due to inadequate risk definition [2].
- PwC found that good project management practices can reduce risks, cut costs and improve success rates by up to 30% [3].
While the potential for risk reduction could be higher, we use a conservative 15% default to ensure realistic and achievable estimates.

RAID Log Methodology Practitioner Training
RAID log practitioner training is a 4 hour, 4 PDU course which teaches project leaders best practices for managing Risks, Issues, Decisions, Changes, Dependencies and Lessons Learned through a RAID log. Participants will learn how to use their RAID log not only for better project planning and resilience in the face of challenges, but also how to use RAID to better communicate and collaborate.
This training is focused mostly on the methodology of RAID, rather just than being a technical training on our RAIDLOG tool.
